Have Questions? I've Got Answers

Hiring a consultant isn’t just about “getting in”—it’s about ensuring your story shines, avoiding costly missteps and reducing stress ,

Most consultants understand applications. I understand students.

After 10+ years teaching AP courses—where I coached teens through advanced coursework, rigorous critical thinking and writing that top colleges crave—I bring a rare combo to college counseling:

  1. I Speak ‘Admissions’ and ‘Academia’ Fluently (Unlike consultants who’ve never stood in a classroom), I’ve:

    • Designed curricula that push students to think like college freshmen.

    • Graded hundreds of essays, spotting what makes writing persuasive (not just polished).

    • Seen firsthand how colleges reward intellectual curiosity—because I’ve taught it.

  2. I Know How to Spot (and Grow) Potential
Colleges aren’t just judging your stats—they’re asking, “How is this student the missing piece of our incoming class. ” My years of  teaching enable me to:

    • Identify hidden strengths (even in “average” students).

    • Turn classroom struggles into compelling stories of growth.

    • Mentor strategically, so students earn their confidence (vs. faking it in essays).

  3. I’ve Navigated the System From Both Sides
Most young consultants only know admissions from an office chair. I’ve:

    • Prepped students for AP exams that prove college readiness.

    • Written recommendation letters that admissions committees actually remember.

    • Watched my students transition from my classroom to top universities—so I know what works long-term.

Bottom Line:

My teaching experience isn’t a resume line—it’s a superpower for cutting through application noise and showing colleges the student behind the stats.”

Think of me as your storytelling strategist + personal hype person—here to make the process empowering, not transactional.

My teaching + counseling background gives me unique insight into what colleges want. My students consistently earn spots at top schools (check out my Case Study), but I’m most proud of helping them grow into confident applicants.

Collaborative and empowering! But never transactional. We’ll:

  1. Uncover your authentic voice

  2. Craft essays that show depth (not just achievements)

  3. Tie everything into a cohesive story. You’ll own every word – I’m here to refine, not rewrite.

My students come from all states and internationally. Those who found me tend fall into two groups:

  1. High achievers aiming for Ivy League/top-tier schools (50% in STEM, 50% in humanities/social sciences).

  2. Students overcoming challenges who want a supportive guide to find their “best fit” college.

I have about 25% foreign students each year. For them, applying to U.S. colleges is like running a race where the rules are very unclear. You bring incredible strengths—unique perspectives, multilingual fluency, global experiences—but face hurdles most U.S. applicants don’t.

Your Hidden Advantages:

  • Multilingual fluency that signals resilience and grit (because it’s a lot harder than acing AP Calc)

  • Global perspective that Ivy Leagues crave (when framed right).

  • Unique hooks like cultural traditions, gap years, or family journeys.

Challenges We Tackle Together:

  1. “Why does my cultural background confuse U.S. admissions officers?”
→ I’ll help you frame your story in ways U.S. committees value.

  2. “My school doesn’t offer APs/IB—will colleges doubt my rigor?”
→ I’ll strategically highlight coursework, self-studied exams, or projects to prove college readiness (which I’ve done for many students from Asia).

  3. “How do I explain my extracurriculars without U.S.-style ‘resume buzzwords’?”
→ We’ll translate your achievements into terms admissions officers admire.

  4. “U.S. financial aid/visa rules feel impossible.”
→ I’ll demystify need-aware schools, merit scholarships, and visa-friendly programs (while keeping your safety net realistic).

Why My International Students Succeed:

  • 10+ years teaching AP courses = I know exactly how U.S. colleges assess academic potential.

  • 25% of my cohort is international = I’ve cracked the code for what works (and what reads as “lost in translation”).

  • No cookie-cutter strategies = Your app will feel distinctly you, not “generic international applicant #203.”

I limit my cohort to 15-17 students annually to ensure personalized attention—no cookie-cutter strategies here.

100%. We’ll start with a deep dive into your goals, then build a roadmap that’s yours alone.

Yes! Weekly or bi-weekly (flexible scheduling) to:

  • Brainstorm/edit essays

  • Strategize extracurriculars

  • Research schools

  • Tackle application tasks

  • Go over homework between sessions

Parents provide valuable insights, but students lead the process. I ask parents to step back during meetings (except for quick check-ins) so teens build independence—a skill colleges love!
However, parents can always contact me any time they need to.

Ideally in 9th/10th grade to build a strong foundation (coursework, extracurriculars, goals). But I strongly recommended you start the college process right after finishing 11th grade.

Absolutely! I’ll help you:

  • Identify unique passions (no clichés!)

  • Strategize competitions/projects (especially for non-STEM fields)

  • Showcase impact authentically
(Note: I don’t place students in internships.)

No ethical consultant can. But I guarantee to:

  • Find schools where you’ll thrive

  • Make you the strongest candidate possible

  • Keep the process uplifting (not transactional)
